This list of citations is hardly exhaustive. Michael's name appears in thousands of online discussions, only some of which he participated in. And hundreds, if not thousands, of automated Web sites (built upon data from sources like Amazon.Com and the Open Directory Project, or other RSS feeds) list his books and Web sites in conjunction with his name.
These Web sites have been included here because they specifically mention Michael's research, either through direct quotation, recommendations, or uniquely descriptive comments which convey a sense of worth and value to surfers in Michael's writings. Or because they acknowledge Michael's presence in some other way (such as Mithrigil Galtirglin's hilarious Peter's Rings, which makes fun of hardcore Tolkien enthusiasts' attitude toward the Peter Jackson movies).
The division of listings into four categories only resulted from a natural tendency to group some sites together. No sense of authority or weight is attached to the categories. Non-Web sources (such as Douglas Anderson's The Annotated Hobbit) which refer to Michael or his work have not been included. And due to numerous mis-spellings (Martin Martinez, Michael Maritnez, Micheal Martinez, etc.) it is extremely difficult to find all references to Michael, or his work.
