Harry Potter took the science fiction and fantasy world by storm unlike any franchise since J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. Set in an imaginary sub-culture of the modern world, the Harry Potter stories have sparked the imaginations of adults and children alike. Some kids have literally grown up with the Harry Potter stories as they were published. The incredible impact that Harry Potter has had on science fiction and fantasy deserves recognition and Michael just loves the books and movies. Hence, he finally put together a fan tribute worthy of being part of the Xenite.Org Network.
Compuserve IMPs
The CompuServe IMPs started out as a small group of science fiction writing workshop enrollees on CompuServe. The waiting list for inclusion in the workshop was so long the members started their own critique group to improve their skills before entering the daunting workshop. Michael put together a tribute site to recognize the accomplishments of the IMPs, many of whom have gone their separate ways but who still occasionally reach out to each other in friendship and support.
SciFi Movies Portal
SciFi Movies have had a major impact on science fiction and fantasy fandom at least since the 1970s, if not earlier. Every year new projects are announced and Xenite.Org has on occasion been fortunate enough to work with movie studios in announcing and promoting their projects.
